Are off-road vehicles provided?
Autry’s Offroad Tours does not supply vehicles. Riders must bring their own vehicles and equipment, which must be in compliance with Oregon law and in good working condition. If you do not own or have access to a vehicle or equipment, you can rent it at rentedadventures.com.
All vehicles must be in compliance with Oregon Law and in good working condition. A pre-ride inspection will be conducted. Vehicles not in compliance or good working condition will not be able to participate in the tour.
Where do tours take place?
Tours will be hosted in the Tillamook State Forest, which is located less than two hours from downtown Portland.
How long is a tour?
Tours range anywhere from 30 to 80 miles, which is approximately five to seven hours depending upon rider skill-level and vehicles used. We will customize a tour that is consistent with your skill-level and desire from beginner-level to a ride that will challenge even the most experienced of riders.
How will emergencies be handled?
Guides are First Aid and CPR certified and carry satellite phones and GPS for pin point locations in case assisted evacuation is necessary.
Inclement Weather
Tours will be held rain or shine. Tours may be cancelled due to extreme snow or ice at Autry’s discretion. Spring and Fall temperatures range from 50 to 70 degrees; Summer from 70 to 90 degrees.
What happens if a tour is cancelled?
If a tour is cancelled due to inclement weather or for another reason at Autry’s discretion, tours will be rescheduled. If rider determines not to reschedule tour, then the $50 deposit will be non-refundable.
What is the terrain like?
Terrain includes single- and two track, goat-trails, hills (both moderate and steep), hill climbs, creeks, rivers, trees, clear cuts – just about everything under the sun. Conditions range from muddy to dusty depending upon time of year. Rides will be catered to riders needs and desires.
Are meals provided?
Meals can be arranged for an additional charge. Contact us for further information.
What if I cannot make the scheduled tour?
24 hour advance notice is required to reschedule the tour. The $50 deposit is non-refundable.
Are tours private or in groups?
Typically tours will be held in groups made of riders with similar skill-level and tour desire. If you prefer a private tour, Autry’s requires a minimum of two paying adults or one paying adult with a paying minor.
Are group discounts available?
- Group discounts are available for groups with five or more paying adults. Discount = $20 off each rider fees. Regular rate = $150 per tour/per day with a $50 non-refundable deposit(balance of 100.00 due on day of tour) .
- Discount = $130 per tour/per day with a $50 non-refundable deposit.
Can we ride more than one day?
Definitely! Autry’s offers river-front camping facilities on the scenic Trask River that includes electric hook-up (limited fresh water; no sewer). $20 per night. Other camping facilities are available at the Trask River RV Park. Not into camping? No problem. Lodging is available in Tillamook (approx 30 minutes from tour site). Tour prices are per tour/per day.
Can tours be scheduled during the week?
Autry’s typically operates on the weekends, but weekday tours may be scheduled with advance notice.
